The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced the full main slate for the 2021 edition of the New York Film Festival which is celebrating its 59th year, which will take place from September 24th-October 10th.
The lineup includes the previously announced titles which include Joel Coen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth which will serve as the opener, Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog as the Centerpiece, and Pedro Almodóvar’s Parallel Mothers which is the Closing selection.
Some highlights include Julia Ducournau’s Palme d’Or winner Titane, Todd Hayne’s The Velvet Underground documentary, Joanna Hogg’s The Souvenir Part II, Paul Verhoeven’s Benedetta, Mia Hansen-Løve’s Berman Island, Gaspar Noé’s Vortex as well as Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s Memoria. The main slate also includes two films that we caught virtually at Sundance this year, Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s Flee and Rebecca Hall’s Passing.
