Fontaines D.C. has shared “Favourite”, the second single shared from their upcoming new album, Romance, which will be released on August 23rd via XL Recordings.
We heard them preview it at their intimate performance at Warsaw in Brooklyn last month and the minute it kicked off it grabbed us immediately. It’s a song the band’s Grian Chatten describes as having “this never-ending sound to it, a continuous cycle from euphoria to sadness, two worlds spinning forever.”
A sharp and infectious slice of indie pop with elements of jangly 90s guitar and a sunny spirit that is a perfect way to close out a record. It’s hard to imagine a better closing track this year.
