Nisa, the project of New York’s Nisa Lumaj, will release her debut album Shapeshifting, on April 26th via Tender Loving Empire Records. She previously shared its lead single “Smokescreen” and today has hit back with “Dreamspeak.”

“Dreamspeak” is a song that proudly brandishes a “powerful statement of taking back one’s power and voice while in a twilight state.” Opening with tender piano work, it soon blossoms into an airy electronic atmosphere, providing the performance framework for Nisa’s vocals to pull you in. It soon blossoms into a vibrant electronic pop track that still harnesses all the emotion that we’ve come to lean on from her, wonderfully produced by Ronnie DiSimone (aka Torna).

Speaking on the single, Nisa details:

“I once heard from someone that not being able to communicate in your dreams is a reflection of your waking life’s sense of not being heard. I thought about writing “Dreamspeak” as an undoing of this feeling, where my dream-self could confront me and give me my voice back.”

With the release comes a new music video directed by Rhianna Hajduch, which you can find available to watch below. You can also pre-order the LP directly at Bandcamp.
