Last month we shared “Brainwashed” from Erik & The Worldly Savages, the project of Canadian singer-songwriter Erik Mut (who now calls Serbia home). Tomorrow he will release his new EP, FUTURE THUNDER VOID, which features the single “Thunder in our Hearts”, for which its music video was recently shared.

The track features a raw blend of folk, chamber rock and Eastern European elements and horns that showcase a heartfelt and raw emotion, that feels like a blend of Beirut and DeVotchKa, with a folk sensibility of its own that jumps out of the speakers and lands firmly in your heart.

Below find his detailed insight into both the single and EP:

“Written in Thailand and Mexico, Future Thunder Void takes place after the events of the previous “Break Free” EP. It describes the different sensations and feelings of a nomadic life in the modern world. It shows you how confusing, empowering and hopeful it can be. The single “Thunder In Our Hearts” covers what it means to recognize your own individuality and how it feels to broadcast that to the world; it speaks to those who believe in embracing the beat of their own drum without sacrificing success. It celebrates finding new, authentic ways of being fully in one’s own ultimate lifestyle.”
