Canadian singer-songwriter Erik Mut launched his project Erik & The Worldly Savages after leaving Canada to live in Belgrade, Serbia.

He was inspired by the culture and sounds of Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean and brought them into his music. This winter saw him return with his new EP, Break Free, which features songs such as the wonderful opening track and single “Brainwashed.”

The track “reflects on the social engineering of society, how it impinges on individuality and breeds complacent mediocrity, asking: Is this it for humanity?” and delivers a wonderfully worldly element of horns and high energy rock instrumentation. It results in a track that is lively, full of clever bite and a smart wit that blends genres and era’s, a chameleon of type and time that is whatever you want it to be.

You can check out “Brainwashed” right now below and find the full EP available to listen to on Spotify.
