Pet Owner, the moniker of Lea Mathis, a talented singer-songwriter from Lucerne, Switzerland, first caught our attention with their single “Helping Hand” back in August.

It’s taken from her recently released debut album which features tracks in the same vein which make up for the captivating vibe and tempo of the entire LP.

Take the dreamy and hazy nature of “Soft Body.” It has a soft-spoken nature and vibe from Mathis, while also featuring an experimental nature that has a bit of a Sung Tongs-era Animal Collective vibe, mixed with the warm vocals of Helena Deland mixed with Laura Marling.

Then there is “Endless Fun” a soft yet captivating and interestingly hypnotic sound that is a rich and layered folk-rock performance. It’s a prime example of Mathis’ ability to weave in and out of traditional folk sounds with a dream-state-like atmosphere that feels otherwordly yet completely grounded somehow at the same time.

Both songs can be found streaming below, and you can stream and buy the full album on Bandcamp.
