Finding Illinois is the project of Toronto-based musician Chris Veres, whose single “Song of A Thousand Lifetimes” we shared last summer. Veres is gearing up for the release of his new EP, Reflection, which features tracks like the inspired single “Edge of Town”.
The track collides grandiose imagery produced by the anthemic instrumentals that have an expansive indie-rock tone and feel, with Veres’ hushed yet emotive vocals.
It reminds me of the sort of sound that would have really taken the world by storm back in the early 2000s.
