California artist Kip Nelson, who first caught our attention with “Be on My Side” back in 2019 – has done so once again with his latest single, “Hindsight.”
The track takes me back to the golden summers of chilled out indie rock that graced blogs like this one back in the early 2010s, with a dreamy presence that effortlessly seems to blend genres together into something both melancholic but super vibrant as well.
About the song, Nelson details:
This song is about a once vivid memory of a moment that has since washed out and warped through time. This memory important to me a few years ago but I find comfort in being able to let it fade out so I can move past it. This song Hindsight is a reflection on this experience.
I wrote, recorded and produced all elements of this song myself. It was started recording this song at my home in Santa Barbara, but I have since moved to Austin TX where I finished the tune in my new little home studio.
