South London indie rockers Ski Lift have recently returned with their fifth single “I Wanna Be You” – following other standouts singles such as “Portal”.
Barely clocking in at 2 1/2-minutes, the song wastes no time and delivers the infectious goods right from the get-go. The track channels the best of 90s Brit rock with a shimmering dream-pop element, both of which collide into a sound that is both joyful while packing plenty of emotion and a sense of lingering melancholy. It’s an ear-worm in every sense of the word.
