Remember getting to see movies in a theater? It seems like a distant memory now and like so much in 2020, new movie releases took a big hit. While we got a steady amount of new releases digitally, it was a weird year for new releases. Some 2020 movies were only available to certain parts of the press or strangely those who were still risking seeing movies indoors.
With all that was going on, I didn’t even make my best of list as there was a lot of movies I didn’t get to see and to be honest, I had trouble finding the motivation to do so.
But with tomorrow’s Oscar nominations and now that I have had the time to catch up on all the movies I mostly wanted to see, I took the time to compile a list of some of the standouts of a weird year. I usually do a top 50 but considering the situation, I limited my list to the films I really enjoyed this year, which ended up being 35.
