Norwegian singer-songwriter Simen Mitlid will release his new album Birds on October 30th via Koke Plate. He’s just returned with the final new single with “Grateful Dead” which follows the previously shared “Murders” and “Birds”

The track sees Mitlid explore the possibilities of folk and more electronic elements, sitting somewhere like a combination of Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver, and even Kishi Bashi. It pulls a blend of colorful ingredients, merging seamlessly with the more emotional and fragile folk atmospherics.

Or as Mitlid describes it:

“Grateful Dead” is a song about ghosts, both in a metaphorical way and a concrete way. I wanted to write about miscommunication and ghosts became a metaphor for that.
