Last year Norweigan singer-songwriter Simen Mitlid released his sophomore album Neutral. He’s already back at it, with plans for its follow-up, Birds, to be released later this fall.
He’s given us our first listen of the new album with the single and title track “Birds.” It’s another lush Nordic folk-rock display that has a subtle and fragile emotion to it that hits home in all the right ways. Mitlid describes the song as “an indie ballad about black metal, skateboarding, life, birthdays, dying and birds.”
