Elephant Castle is the retro-inspired indie-rock project from Los Angeles-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Phil Danyew. He formerly was a touring member of Foster The People before leaving to focus on his own music.
Good thing he did as it’s given us psych-rock gems such as “I’m A Loser,” a song that he describes as a “tongue-in-cheek anthem for the underdog.”
The easy comparison for us is the early days of Tame Impala with a mix of far-out psychedelic grooves that are mixed with some hard-hitting rock elements as well.
