Toronto alt-rock artist Delyn Grey wants to revamp the mainstream music trends and break barriers, merging genres such as garage rock and r&b music. This can be felt on her recently released new single “Battle.”
The track puts her powerhouse vocals and emotional delivery on perfect display. Grey offers a soulful performance that hits on some pretty heavy topics that come from a personal place for the artists as she describes below.
When I turned 17 I fell into the heaviest depression, ever. I chose to take advantage of it, and what was trying to break me. Battle, among other tracks, is the product of my resistance, acceptance, and fight during that time. Vocalizing my frustration, fear, and anger is what eventually got me through it. My hope is that this song will find people that need it, just like it found me.”
