The New Pornographers returned with their latest LP In the Morse Code of Brake Lights via Concord Music Group and have been touring in support of it which brought them back to New York on November 7th for a performance at Brooklyn Steel. This was our first time catching the group since their performance at Terminal 5 back in 2017.
These days the band are still led by A.C. Newman and Neko Case, with Dan Bejar is on indefinite hiatus from the group (although he did contribute as a co-composer on the track “Need Some Giants”). They along with the rest of the band (Kathryn Calder, John Collins, Todd Fancey, Joe Seiders, Simi Stone, and Blaine Thurier) held down the fort just find running through both new material and all the old classics that are just a perfect demonstration of power-pop perfection that really comes to life even more in the live environment.
Find a full set of photos from their Brooklyn Steel performance posted in the gallery below, along with the setlist.
