Eddy Yang is an Asian American musician based out of Los Angeles who first caught our attention earlier this year with his song “A New City,” which was taken off his EP of the same name.
Yang is preparing for the release of his debut album American Glory later this summer and has shared it’s very summery single “On Our Way (Into The Night).” The track has a bit of a 90s slacker vibe to it while also channeling some more modern acts, sort of like a calmer soothing version of Japandroids.
You can enjoy “On Our Way (Into The Night)” and read below about some of the insight into the song from Yang himself.
It’s about getting into your car and driving into the night to escape your hometown and your past – it’s about one’s desire to find one’s own path in life. The song explores classic American rock themes such as fast cars, freedom, and escapism, but with a modern twist. With fast lines and slick guitar leads, On Our Way (Into The Night) captures the feeling of being young and alive, when one has the world in the palm of one’s hand.
