Happyness are a trio out of London who garnered quite a bit of buzz this year during their visit to NYC for CMJ. They were over here in support of their debut album Weird Little Birthday and EP Anything I Do Is Alright, both which were released this year.
There’s a easy going college-rock nature to Happyness (very Pavement at times), where they quietly hint at much bigger ideas and pop harmonies led by the split vocal duties helmed by the band’s Benji Compston and Jonny Allan. They’re a fairly new group, but it doesn’t show; they have a well established sound and tight delivery that makes them seem like veterans.
Happyness are ones to keep on your radar for sure.
