Weezer will release new album Everything Will Be Alright In The End on my birthday (September 30).
I’m sure most of you are very cautious about a new Weezer album, and who can blame you? All of their recent output has been mostly disappointing, save for a few memorable cuts here and there (“Pork and Beans” and “Perfect Situation” slayed live at Firefly this year).
First single “Back To The Shack” features cheeky lyrics poking fun at some of the bands more recent poor choices such as a reference to him and Pat switching roles on The Red Album. Even with some classic Weezer elements at play, “Back To The Shack” doesn’t have that classic Weezer spark. It’s tolerable, but ultimately forgettable.
