Buffalo-based trio The Tins are no strangers around these parts. I’ve been following them for some time now, and am happy to announce that the trio will return with their new self-produced EP Young Blame on July 29 (pre-order it here). It’s the follow-up to their 2012 album Life’s A Gas.
According to the band’s drummer Dave Muntner, Young Blame explores themes of movement:
Moving forward, moving on, moving into the unknown, regardless of the consequences. Young Blame takes what we have learned from our earlier recordings and refines the best parts, putting a greater emphasis on the vocals, the interplay between band members, the combination of electronic and organic elements, and the dynamics throughout each song.
The band have let go of the EP’s first single “They Aren’t Evil.” Here the band have one of their most instantly accessible tracks to date, with a heavy focus on a delightful bit of synth. But still, the bands strength is their vocal interplay and ability to ride a melody till you’re absolutely hooked. There has always been a natural smoothness to The Tins songs, and they’ve fully hit their stride on “They Aren’t Evil.”
The band released a cool video for the track which premiered at Impose. You can find that posted below.
They will be stopping in to play a show in Brooklyn at The Rock Shop on July 19. You can find tickets for that right here. The rest of the tour dates are posted below as well.
