There was something different about Chance The Rapper’s Governors Ball set that set him apart from the hip-hop sets that I’m used to seeing. He has this grace to him on stage that was very confident, but not cocky. He performed his songs with you, not to you. It’s something that you don’t see often, but when you do, it stands out.
Dressed in a David Wells White Sox Jersey with a superman shirt underneath that, Chance didn’t waste anytime to get the wild crowd even more amped up. He started the show with a bang, charging through “Everybody’s Something” and “Pusha Man”, two of his biggest hits. He also covered the Arthur theme song (just like he did at Sasquatch), which was a cool shared moment between Chance and the crowd. He had worked the crowd up to feverish levels, and kept them there until the very end.
For someone relatively new to the scene, Chance already has a strong hold on what it takes to make it as a performer.
