I’ve been impatiently waiting for some new music from Oscar ever since I abused the hell out of “Never Told You” last year.
The London art student makes his return with “Open Up” another equally strong offering from the bedroom-pop wizard. This time around he delights with jangly guitar tones that resemble the early days Vampire Weekend. Only this time he adds in some lovely vocals (think Jens Lekman) and shuffling synth-work to give it its magical touch.
It’s likely to appear on his debut EP, which will be released this summer via Smalltown Supersound’s brand new imprint label Brown Rice. If you’re in London be sure to keep an eye out for Oscar’s latest Damaged Goods live show.
