The minute I heard that Christopher Nolan’s next project was a film called Interstellar, it automatically became one of my most anticipated films, without even knowing what it was about. In September we got our first short plot synopsis of the film, which is as follows:
A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.
Yesterday, the a teaser trailer was shown, officially launching the film’s promotional campaign. It’s quite a beautiful little teaser.
It begins with various footage showing the glory of space exploration, over a moving voice over from the film’s star Matthew McConaughey. The second half gives us brief glimpses of the film with McConaughey driving a pickup truck in a rural farmland and a space shuttle launching into the sky, as two people hold hands while watching. It ends by saying “One Year From Now”, a harsh reminder that we still have a year to go until we get to see what Interstellar has in store for us.

We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments.
