It’s official, we will be covering the Pitchfork Music Festival this year. I made the trip to Bonnaroo just a few weeks ago, and now I am making my first trip to the windy city to see what the Pitchfork Festival has to offer.

The schedule can be found here.

Now who am I looking forward to seeing? Well, pretty much everyone. But seriously, here’s a little rundown of the artists I’m putting at top priority come the weekend on July 13-15:

Friday:
Lower Dens should be great. Willis Earl Beal was great when I saw him open for Wu Lyf. It’s been a while since I saw Japandroids. A$AP Rocky and Clams Casino should be fun. How can I say no to the final combo of Dirty Projectors, Purity Ring, and Feist? I just saw Feist at Bonnaroo so it looks like Purity Ring may end up recieving my final vote.

Saturday:
Saturday is a big day. Looking forward to Cloud Nothings, whose sound has changed since I first saw them. Lotus Plaza and Atlas Sound should get my Deerhunter fix sort of out of the way. The last time I saw Atlas Sound was at my school, and it resulted in Bradford Cox eating pizza and talking to the crowd more so than playing, so hopefully he will play more this time. Youth Lagoon is an act that always played NYC when I was at school, so I have yet to catch him. Really exicted about that. Wild Flag excite me, as well as Chromatics. Sleigh Bells are another band I keep missing, so that is a must watch. Hot Chip always put on a great show, and I’ll catch a bit of both Godspeed You! Black Emperor & Grimes, whose sets are far too close for comfort.

Sunday:
I’ll start Sunday with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, then get my face melted off my Iceage. If I make it out alive, then I got Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, and The Men to continue the proper guitar shredding. I plan to cool off in proper summer fashion with a set by the reliable Real Estate. King Krule, Beach House, are both artists who I’ve seen before, but the notion of seeing Beach House live on this tour excites me a lot. And what a better way to end the festival than with Vampire Weekend, who are playing their first big show in god knows how long. Can’t wait.

Please let me know if you’re going to the festival. Would love to say hello.
