On June 11 Twin Peaks returned to New York for a pair of two small shows at Baby’s All Right, one early, one late. We caught the later show, as we knew it would be the wilder of the bunch, but also because we were finishing off covering the last of the Northside Festival.
Nashville’s Ron Gallo kicked things off with a rocking set that at one point included Gallo rocking out with a plant on stage, and saw him come into the crowd for a bit. The fans really connected to their set, and it’s safe to say that Ron Gallo definitely gained a few new fans from the young dedicated fanbase of Twin Peaks.
Considering that Twin Peaks are now at the point of being able to handily rock out a room like Webster Hall, it was great to see them rock out at their old stomping grounds of Baby’s All Right – where I saw them play last during CMJ 2014. It was a very young crowd, but boy were they dedicated. They sung back every word and sent each other bodies flying into one another, crowdsurfing and moshing nonstop. Security did intervene with surfers towards the end of the show (I’m guessing cause of how young some fans were) but that didn’t stop guitarist Cadien Lake James from ending the show with a crowdsurf of his own during the wild encore closing performance of
