On September 23, I said goodbye to the always wonderful SummerStage series at Central Park, as we looked ahead towards fall, and the end of outdoor concerts in the always welcoming park.
Headlined by Lucius (who we saw earlier in the year at both the Gramercy Park Hotel and MHOW), who were still hard at work touring Good Grief (released this March via Mom + Pop Music). They brought along support from the hard-working Big Thief, who seem to have opened more shows than any other band in New York this year, continuing support for their strong debut Masterpiece (released via Saddle Creek in May), as well as JD McPherson.
It was a strong triple bill of music, and a wonderful way to bid summer farewell.
