Tonight the iconic spoof-master Weird Al Yankovic makes his return to the New York area with a performance at the beautiful Capitol Theatre. This follows his highly praised performance at Governors Ball last month.
The show and tour (dubbed “The Mandatory World Tour”) come in support of his 2014 album Mandatory Fun, released via RCA Records. Anyone whose seen a show from Weird Al before knows that it’s not your ordinary performance. Full of costume, wardrobe and set changes, it’s as much as comedic theatrical performance as a concert. As someone whose seen a ton of shows, getting to see Weird Al perform for the first time at Governors Ball was unlike any show that I’ve ever seen before.
