Jersey City, New Jersey-natives Royal Blush returned with their debut EP, A Ways Away, earlier this month – described as “a collection of mental overload. Deafening anger, quiet hope, collective resistance, and unrelenting uncertainty.”

Closing out the EP is “Butterflies on the Grave”, an emotive and romantic cinematic closer that has a slow burn dreamy nature that develops into something cathartic and life-affirming. It hits with a bit of a 90s presence in its mind, but also blends different eras of pop and rock into something very much of their own creation.

Speaking on the track, the band adds:

Thinking about those who couldn’t stay in your life. Toxic people, failed relationships or otherwise. A door meant to be shut, but you still can’t stop looking through the peephole to the other side.
