Hate Mail are a band from Houston, Texas that describes themselves as making “slutty music for sad girls.”
They recently shared their single “when i’m home” is a blend of indie rock and pop that has a very early 2000s quality to it with a warm sense of nostalgia that strikes the right chords of pop infectiousness and some gritty indie rock.
Or as they put it:
when i’m home is a representation of us; straightforward, honest, fucked up and relatable. it’s about escapism and relying on outside sources of dopamine/seratonin to feed our delusion rather than facing our issues head on.
