Fright Years are an Edinburgh-based band that shared their debut EP, Still Life, last month. Described as a response to some of life’s hardest moments, it’s an EP that deserves your attention – with two highlights from the album being single “Do What You Wanna” and EP closer “Obstacles.”
“Do What You Wanna” tightly delivered indie rock that has elements of Wolf Alice, with a bit of a 90s throwback quality about it, delivered in earnest confidence that flashes some big hooks.
“Obstacles” is a solemn affair that is backed up by haunted strings and a feeling of melancholy that builds and builds to epic heights. It ends the EP on a pitch perfect and authentic note that has elements of Middle Kids.
