This weekend saw Brooklyn-based producer Eric Gabriel release his debut album, Samara, featuring songs that were recorded live with producer Philip Weinrobe (Adrienne Lenker, Florist).
“Long Gone” a bit of a Bon Iver element to it with a groovy nature and sense of production that bursts to life with confidence. The production flourishes blended with his vocals are a mix that combine to produce something special.
“Living Proof” a touching song about his grandma, with a melancholy and reflective tone that has a genuine bit of heart about it. There’s a country and alt folk twang to it that really grows and expands as it goes along.
