North Carolina-based singer-songwriter Lilly Flower returned in January with new album, Critter, featuring tracks that take us back into the 90s.

Take single “American Sweetheart” a pummeling blend of glorious guitar fuzz and garage rock influences that call to mind classic groups of a different era, as well as contemporaries such as Best Coast. There’s an emotional center to it all that also has some sneaky pop harmonies and hooks. This can also be said about fellow album highlight “im not hungry” which calls to mind some of the work of bands like Cults and Vivian Girls.

Enjoy a listen to both songs below and find the album available to stream and buy at Bandcamp.
