New York-based singer-songwrtier country girl released their debut EP, meet me at the fountain back in January via the FADER label.
“field day” is a sunny and spirited blend of upbeat folk rock with a colorful nature that just feels like its packed to the brim with life and hope. The rich and textured production takes it to a place of its own existence, one that makes us feel like we are traveling back in time to the 2010s when music made us feel this way.
Speaking on the track, they add:
“‘field day’ is the stolen glance behind the summer camp cabin; it’s the feral abandon of playing tag in the woods at night, the bright cold feeling on your skin when you jump in the lake, look back at your crush on the shore, and know this is your last chance before school starts again… ‘field day, catch sucka, i’ll race you there…’”
