The Ophelias will release their new album Spring Grove, on April 4th via their new label, Get Better Records. They previously shared lead single “Cumulonimbus” and have since returned with “Salome.”

The track turns the dial back to the 90s with a raw garage rock spirit that channels the best of that genre, reminding artists such as The Breeders and Liz Phair. Passionate and rock combine into something personal and powerful.

Speaking on the track, front woman Spencer Peppet add:

“‘Salome’ loosely follows the biblical story of (you guessed it) Salome, who danced for King Herod at his birthday celebration and was told she could ask for anything in return. She asked for the head of John the Baptist. While I personally have never facilitated someone’s beheading, I find the story and the way it has resonated with playwrights, filmmakers, and artists fascinating — a real depiction of ‘female biblical rage,’ as the TikTok girlies would say.”
