PAULA T is the project of Brooklyn-based songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and singer Paula Tartell.
She recently released her debut single “Canary”, a track that comes bursting out of your speakers delivering an urgent spirited blend of indie pop and rock with a raw spirit that delivers hooks galore in the most natural fashion. It’s a complete joy and delivers some well-needed warmth and hope during these cold winter months.
Speaking on the track, Tartell adds:
Canary is my debut release. It’s is about a demoralizing pattern I’ve found myself in: dating men afraid to be in love. For me personally, the vulnerability of sharing my art is way more terrifying than falling in love will ever feel. The canary as a symbol is an invocation for people to keep sharing themselves with the universe despite the prospect of rejection.
