Magana the solo project of acclaimed LA-based multi-instrumentalist and photographer Jeni Magaña, who is the current bassist and backing vocalist for Mitski.
She has recently let go of the Bad News EP, via Audio Antihero, her third release in a ten month period. Highlights include “Shower Song”, a gorgeous enchanting slice of personal indie folk with a gorgeous warmth and style of production that delivers a powerful emotional stance that leaves a powerful impact.
“Half to Death” is another pre-release single that has connected in all the right ways. The track is built with cinematic flourishes that feel like they could score an impactful scene during a film, with hypnotic vocals and instrumentation that packs a subtle yet effective emotional punch.
