Swiss-natives Last Leaf Down, whose sound is amazingly described as “dreamy shoegaze from the woods” will return with their new album,Weight Of Silence, on April 11th, and have given us a taste of the record with the release of new single “Silence.”
The track captures a blend of hypnotic shoegaze and post rock, drenched with a feeling of melancholy and loss. There’s a blend of bands like Explosions In The Sky in its flare for the dramatic and big cinematic sort of moments, but a bit of The National in the way it navigates emotive waters in an entrancing fashion.
Speaking on the track, the band’s Benjamin Schenk adds:
“I worked on this song for a very long time and went through a rollercoaster of emotions with it. It is very special to me because it triggers something unique in me, as if it takes me in its arms and looks back with me, in security and with a little distance.”
