Immersion is the duo of married couple Colin Newman (Wire) and Malka Spigel (Minimal Compact) who are teamed up with ambient country trio SUSS for their collaborative album, Nanocluster Vol. 3, due out on February 14th.
“State Of Motion” is a single ahead of the albums release, that features a blend of their post punk and ambient country into something that has a gorgeous melodic structure that feels open-ended and full of possibilites, just as much as it is reflective and powerful.
Speaking on the track Colin and Malka add:
“The title reflects the piece as it matches Immersion’s hypnotic propulsion to SUSS’ open-skies atmospherics and the video renders a visual interpretation of the stop/start nature of the music and life itself.”
And SUSS’ Pat Irwin adds:
“One of the challenges of a collaboration is being led into places you never could have imagined.”
