Robert Ascroft is a producer, director, and photographer that is preparing for the release of new album, Echo Still Remains, out January 31st via Hand Drawn Dracula.
Earlier this year he released the great single “Faded Photograph” which features vocals from Ruth Radelet of Chromatics.
He’s since returned with “Where Did You Go”, which features Britta Phillips of Luna and Dean & Britta. The track sets out to channel “the allure of 1960s Film Noir with the dark and surreal beauty of David Lynch’s Lost Highway in sound and cinema.”
He achieves his goal handsomely on the track which evokes a specific sensual mode of longing and expansive emptiness that feels like its a mix of classic film noirs, long drives in the desert, and a bit of The Kills with Phillips’ vocals leading the charge.
