Lunar Noon is the project of San Francisco-based artist Michelle Zheng who returned with their new album, A circle’s round, last November.
On the album, she leads a group of instrumentalists who “evade easy interpretation and create narratives via intersecting contrasting genres including electronic, organic indie, choral, jazz, and elements of Chinese folk as well.”
One of the highlights of the record is single “Nisene Marks”, a really moving and emotive slice of classical-driven indie folk with a warm and magical nature to its construction and delivery. It evokes elements of artists such as Kishi Bashi and Owen Pallet, with a presence entirely of its own.
