Nashville, Tennessee singer-songwriter Bennett Heidelberger recently returned with his double-sided single “Eater of God”/”100usd”, both songs which were recorded at his home studio.
“Eater of God” is a song about “being with someone so important to you that they swallow up the gods in your life, and as a result, new romantic experiences give less excitement.” It’s got a dreamy folk quality with some gorgeous production that summons it to life with a haunted presence that has traces of Alex G.
“100usd” is about “a relationship and knowing you tire each other out”, delivered with a wistful and reflective manner than delivers a ton of melancholy with authority.
