Tokyo-based indie rockers Oeil have recently released their new single “Quiet Lights (2-00 AM Version).”

It’s a alternate version of the track that harnesses the best parts of classic shoegaze with a heavy 90s presence, carrying the torch of acts like My Bloody Valentine, while harnessing a bit of pop-influenced vocal of its own that makes a distinct impression of its own. It feels like a journey half drunk through town where life pauses for you for a matter as you take it all in.

Or as they describe it:

“The sound of this piece is a modern interpretation of classic shoegaze, with the guitar making its presence felt as the central element, creating an immersive and complex layering. It smoothly blends a variety of influences to convey a contemporary sensibility.”
