wildwildsky is UK-based signer-songwriter and producer Nick Donovan.
He’s recently shared his single “Winter Comes”, a perfect song for the Holiday season with a gentle Christmas spirit to it.
It’s a gorgeous piece of powerful emotive folk songwriting with some wonderful lyricism and powerful Arrangements that cast a dreamy and haunting spell.
Detailing the song, Donovan adds:
“Winter Comes” is an atmospheric, acoustic paean to the Winter season and Christmas. Donovan captures the soft chill of night falling on a Winter’s evening as the quiet sets in on the English country side. The snow drifts down and the lights go out one by one.
There is light and darkness in this time of year for many people and the celebrations of the year are often counterbalanced by missing oour loved ones. Donovan wrote this song after losing his three year old son. “Me and my boy were both born in December, and I knew that Winter would be on our doorstep soon again. I felt I needed to have a song to remember him at this time, one of his favourite times of year. In a way it felt like this song was armour to put on for what is coming – essentially a tough time to love and remember.”
