London based, Alt-post rock trio, Warren’s House consists of childhood friends Flynn, Jonny and Will. Earlier in the year they released their debut single “Warm” and the band have recently hit back with its follow-up “Lilac Type.”
It’s a song about the “tension between nostalgia and personal growth” and captures the feeling and uneasy nature of growing up with a blend of experimental post punk and bits of jazzy indie rock. The track shifts and evolves, just like we do in life, throwing many different elements into a unique and memorable whole that is very much it’s own thing (though it does feel like a blend of Shame meets The Smile).
Enjoy a listen to it now below, along with a quote from the band about it:
Lilac Type explores the tension between nostalgia and personal growth, capturing the band’s reflections on their teenage years coming to an end and the evolving nature of relationships. It delves into the emotional landscapes of change, combining lyrical vulnerability with complex, driving instrumentals. Drawing from personal experiences, each track offers a unique perspective on moments of transition and self-discovery.
