Homesickness, is a septet based in Copenhagen that makes experimental chamber-folk music led by singer, guitarist, and lyricist Malthe Junge.
They are preparing for the release of their sophomore album, Anamnesis, and have recently let go of its lead single “Roses by the Creek.”
It’s a deliberate and well crafted indie folk song with plenty of warm chamber folk arrangements that give it a soulful and cinematic quality. It carries the weight of the late ’60s/early ’70s Laurel Canyon folk rock scene, with some very Neil Young-esque moments built within its DNA that have a soulful and elegant nature.
