Mo Kenney is a singer-songwriter from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia that released their fifth studio album, From Nowhere, in September.
The record delves into “the alt-folk singer-songwriter’s subsequent investigations into the root causes of their interpersonal dramas, occupying that liminal and trepidatious time when one is compelled to move but unsure where they might be headed.”
The poignant title track and single “From Nowhere” is a pointed look within their own demons in a reflective nature. The gorgeous set of classic folk arrangements packs a significant emotive nature, with a bit of an old school sense of flourishes and style that bring us back to a different era of songwriting.
Speaking on the track, Kenney adds:
“I sort of thought that getting sober was going to fix all my problems with relationships, and then I would just be fine. Drinking was causing all the issues I was having, but it was just the tip of the iceberg; quitting made all my problems more clear but didn’t resolve any of them.”
