Max García Conover is a singer-songwriter from Maine who recently shared his new single “sue and buz catch up during fireworks.”
The track harnesses the essence and beauty of classic folk songs from another era. Delicate arrangements, pretty piano work, and a gorgeous vocal performance that has piercing lyrics that remind of titans of the genre, from early Bob Dylan, to more contemporary acts like Damien Rice and The Tallest Man On Earth. Fragile and sincere, it feels vitally human.
Speaking further on the track, he adds:
this song was recorded in a barn full of swallows on a working farm in maine. i wrote it after spending the fourth of july with family and friends, watching fireworks and repeatedly having the same conversation about the calamities of this country, its role in the world and the futurelessness we felt. a lot of that has since been put into a somewhat different light and i think the song landed somewhere else too, moving beyond despair without shying away from it.
