ok jolson is the New York City-based psychedelic lounge act of Jack Payne, who won our adoration with his single “Spa Day.”
The track blends an intimate bedroom pop sound with a groovy indie rock jangly nature that feels like a mix of early Mac DeMarco and Alex Cameron. There’s a bright-minded shimmer to it that has a warmth to it that feels like a big warm hug.
Describing the song, Payne adds:
This song was created because like everyone else I know of, I’m really feeling overloaded lately. Sometimes the only reaction is to just disconnect for a while and chill as thoroughly as possible, ideally in a hot steamy spa, pool, beach or somewhere else aquatic and relaxing.
