Pictureplane, the project of Brooklyn-based musician Travis Egedy, returned earlier in the year with his new song “Velvet Lies (Metallic Garden).”
The track captures a darkly gothic blend of synthwave with an icy soundscape that delivers a dramatic sound with an 80s influence and cinematic nature. There’s a dark tone to it but also enough room for sun to glisten in provide a beam of hope.
Reflecting on the new single, Egedy adds:
“’Velvet Lies’ is part of a new collection of music I’ve been making where I’m entering into some new sonic realms and really just enjoying myself and being free. ”
