Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Stephen Becker is preparing for the release of his new album and has given us a preview with the release of its lead single “I Held An Echo.”

The track features vocalist Katie Von Schleicher and drummer Sean Mullins (Sam Evian, Andy Shauf) and grapples with “finding and holding on to transcendence.”

It’s a lush dreamy track with elements of a psych-infused folk sound that feels like it has elements of Woods and Tame Impala, vibrant with tight instrumentation and fully realized production, and still featuring a strong emotive nature.

Discussing the song, Becker adds:

the song describes the experience of scouring the present for answers, before appealing to the past for assistance, amidst daydreams about miracles and mystic events happening on the streets of New York City.
