Kitchen Slug are an indie rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who earlier this year shared their very nostalgic single “Pieces.”
The track carries a bit of that early 2000s indie rock charm that reminds me a great deal of the sort of song that would’ve graced music blogs such as this. There is a genuine emotional quality, blended with some hypnotic guitar work that has traces of both glam rock and bedroom rock, with a lo-fi nature that is a part of its very charm.
Or as they put it:
“a nostalgic song for the end of summer, as if the end credits of a movie started playing”
